This was brought home to me on a relatively flat, but soaking wet, camping field. Here, my otherwise dependable GMC Sierra Pickup decided that it wouldn't, or more to the point, couldn't pull our six-berth caravan from its pitch. Despite its herculean size and 5.7-litre petrol motor, the GMC has only two driven wheels.
